If I catch it quick enough, I can hold the brake and apply throttle to help control it, or immediately throw it into park and it will smooth out right away. Itís very strange that it only wants to do it in gear. Even sitting at a stop in 1st gear, it will sure, putting it in park stops it
I am not a tuner...... but if I had to guess it sounds like a little more fuel needs to be added at the lower RPM if it's going lean that's why it's surging. I only know this because I had the same kind of an issue.

If it’s surging badly now log the surge for me and I will slow it down and see if there is something I’m missing in it. Have a little adjustment I know of we can try and see if it helps in gear idle.

Most likely the random misfire is from running lean when you're WOT.....

It’s never run lean at WOT always 12.5 at least. It only goes lean on the surge and that could be for a lot of reasons. I attribute the random misfire to the cranky cold starts or from when it stalls out

Either way most likely it's still being caused from running lean. It can also happen part-throttle. Random misfire and lean run hand-in-hand......

I finally got around to ordering the special head gaskets for the head swap. Right now I don’t think I’m going to do the intake swap, this little project will be swapping heads and installing the new headers and exhaust pipe to hook it up. The goal is to get rid of any and all exhaust leaks that I’ve had. When I put the old original intake manifold on the new eagle heads, should I use an intake manifold gasket so there aren’t any leaking issues around the ports? Also the headers I am using have a ball and flange end, should I use that type of connection or cut them off and weld on a v-band? Not sure how sturdy the ball and socket connection is.

Also for big personal news, me and my wife are expecting are first kid now! Big changes coming this year. I’m excited for a new phase in life, it’s definetly gonna be different for awhile. With that being said, I doubt I will be getting the turbo project completed this year, unless work is really really good this year. Who knows
