Alright guys, my 2011 ram sport crew cab had the infamous lifter failure, destroyed the cam, so I have the motor torn apart... trying to decide on what to do for a cam... I want something to up my horse power a little, something streetable, really don't want to change a whole lot of stuff hopefully just a cam. What can I get for better hp that won't require tuning... links and info would be appreciated
You will need tuning no matter what aftermarket cam you go with. Any cam that is big enough to show a noticeable increase in power is going to require tuning.
Ok, what are we talking about as far as tuning goes... I know nothing about it, I have a bullydog gt plus, but I doubt I can do it with that, what's tuning cost, who does it, etc.
The GT Platinum 40417 is custom tunable, but the other Bullydog tuners are not. I would switch to Diablo myself though and get a tune from Charged392 on here, Hemifever, or Jay Green.
Yeah a Diablo is suggested for sure. I can tune and hemi fever and jay Greene we all do custom tuning! You won't need to crazy of a cam to make a decent amount of lower in 2011 truck
I have no idea which tuner I have just know it's a bullydog gt, I'll look, what's a diablo and the tune cost? And how steep of a streetable everyday cam can I go... I'm willing to spend the money, just want it reliable
Basic tunes are not that much at least from me. Cams are easy to figure out its the blowers and nitrous dialing that takes time. Diablosport.com is where you want to go look for a tuner
