cam shopping.

Got a question guys! I have been looking for piston to valve clearance for my 06 5.7 hemi. I need this because I am looking at camshafts for Grace and looking at what I can or can't do. any one know what the clearance is? Also are there any compression helping head gaskets available? In dealing with other motors there are different head gaskets that are thinner than others and help raise the compression just a little.

Most of the cams out there are simple install setups unless you go crazy like I want to do. You shoudnt be running into clearnace issues without a crazy cam. There are thicker gaskets to help lower compression if need be too.

Depends are what your wanting to accomplish. And what lobes we use, p2v clearance varies greatly even with the same ICL, LSA and .050 duration.

Thanks, that is very close to what I had in mind...

218/228 .585/.595 with lsa 114 to 117 whatever the lobes would allow.
