Bowtie B.S.

Hey guys, i was checking out the chevy forums trying to learn a little LS savy for a future project. I was surprised to see a lot of these chevy guys claiming hemi "kills". The 6.0 and 6.2 chevys beating a hemi are believable, but there were several stock 5.3 chevys claiming hemi kills. My truck is no longer stock but when it was i raced several 5.3 chevys,it wasnt even close. I chose not to challenge them on their own forum but seriously, have any of you had your hemi stomped by a stock or near stock 5.3 ?

Nope!

An LS can be fast but stock they are turds and don't stand a chance. What they are saying is they raced a dodge likely a v6 ram and run around saying they beat a Hemi lol

Nope. I don't even acknowledge a 1500 lol I'm calling B.S. with ya! We have crappy 5.3 chebbies at work and they are pooches. I hate them with a passion. When I had my '06 2500 I beat a new ford with the 6.7 turbo diesel stoplight to stoplight. That was a pretty close one though, his front bumper was by my rear tire yet when we let off lol The '11 is peppier than the '06 was. Even though it's heavier it feels faster.

Would a 4.7 still be able to beat a stock 5.3? I feel like it would. Stock 5.3 just drive like it's being constantly choked.

My pretty much stock (sc, exhaust, cai, plugs/shortie wires) 5.7 '03 hasn't been beat by a chevy in a long time. I have had it since '07 and race it as much as I can. Only been beat by 3 chevys, a Vortech supercharged SS, a newer model duramax, and a 454SS. I have been smoked by more Fords than I car to admit too, worse beating I got buy a truck. I ran a 9.90 and the lightning beside me ran a 6.60ish in the 1/8th.

Anyone who has never been beat, hasnt raced much, especially at the track. I love my hemi but i appreciate all performance vehicles old and new reguardless of brand and im sure there are modified 5.3 's beating hemis but stock 5.3 vs stock hemi? My moneys on the hemi every time. However if it makes those bowtie owners feel good about themselves to make statements like that, let them have thier fantasy. When they pull up beside a hemi at the stoplight the truth will be known.

I've had a tough race with a 6.2 escalade back in my trucks prime. Not sure what was done to it, but others on the forum have seen my truck run, know what's done to it an it's not "fast" but it sure moves out compared to a stock Hemi lol

There are not many performance modded trucks around me except diesels and fords. Most mods around me are suspension mods, big lifts and lowered on airbags.

The thing is most rams stay in the near stock category or the modded ones have the 545rfe limitation and those chevy guys do go crazy on mods.

That being said , stock vs stock there's no way not even a 6.0 or 6.2 liter, not from a stop nor highway speeds. on my experience.
