6.1 Long Block into 03 Ram

I found a good deal on a 6.1 long block. Can I swap this in and use my 5.7 heads, intake, and accessories? What, if any issues would I have to address....sensors, motor mounts, tranny, etc? I would at least be doing some mild head work and cam while I'm at it. I am aware of the 03 tuning issues, but still should be able to pick up some decent power, even on a mild build. Thoughts, comments? Thanks.

There shouldn't be any issues at all other than re-using the 5.7 front cover to keep the accessories in the same location. I would buy a new 5.7 harmonic dampener and port the heads.

Do you mean short block? A long block comes with heads.

Any way, what stopped me from putting my 6.1 in to my truck, was the toner ring. The 03 uses a small number of teeth toner ring, the 6.1 uses a larger number of teeth. You might think, just change toner rings, but the 5.7 uses a 3 bolt, and the 6.1 uses a 4 bolt. Can't swap them. No one seems to know if the PCM in the 03, will work with the 6.1 toner ring. Too much work for me to try and find out!

I am using a 6.1 block and crank and I assume 6.1 toner ring without any tuning to compensate for it.

By what means, did you get yer 392 inches? See the Manley stroker crank info below. They offer both toner rings for their cranks. I would think, if one size fits all, they wouldn't offer two.

FrostKings 392 has an offset ground 6.1/3.80 stroke, 32 tooth toner ring crankshaft. 4.055" bore. Same as mine.

I've never run across a 6.1 crank, that's 4 bolt, and 32 teeth. All the 6.1 I've seen are 58 tooth.

I seen that Manley offered the 58 tooth toner ring. Same tooth count as an LSX. May help with HPTuners. ??? Here's pic's of 32 tooth count 4 bolt 6.1 crankshafts.

Is that from a production 6.1, or specialty. I know Manley makes them. (See my chart above)
