2004 pcm

I have looked for any information on my truck, and haven't found anything that gives me the solid answer I want. Does my 04 pcm lean toward the 03 and I should be looking for an 05, or is it decent for tuning as is, somewhere in between? I don't have any idea, everything I find jumps from 03 to 05.

The main difference between 03 and 04 pcm is the 03 has a seperate tcm where as the 04+ the tcm is integrated with the pcm. 04 has better tuning than a 03 but not has good as 05. The good news is the 05 pcm can be simply plugged in to replace the 04. With the addition of 05 o2s..

Yeah @xtrenwlr just did the 04 to 05 conversion and it’s running great so far. I’ve heard 04 pcms are hit and miss when it comes to trans tuning, I didn’t have any issues with my 05 swap with trans tuning. It makes a big driveabilty difference especially around town. How far are you planning on modding your truck?

It's kinda hard to say. They closed KCIR down when some rich ******* decided to build a house on top of the hill over the track, and they had deeper pockets than the strip could muster, so it lost. The city bought the land, and put in a park that no one uses in its place. Now the closest strips are an hour an a half away. That said, I'm too old for street racing, they don't play on that stuff anymore. I think I will be good with 400 crank horses, any more would be a waste. I have a Comp 268 cam, the beehive springs, retainers, locators, and pushrods. I keep wanting to throw a stoker in, but really cant justify the expense. Im a truckdriver, and I need my license to work lol. I've read threw most of the ATS thread, and know I'll be pushing the transmission anyway. I'm sure it will be an evolution thing, like all the rest.

The one thing I have learned is hot rodding isn't something you grow out of with age... after a while it becomes all about the build...

You hit the nail on the head there. I have a International big truck with a 500 horse ISX, and I'm still contemplating trying for 800 lol.

My main reason for not going crazy, is I've got the Challenger to go apeshit with. It's much more fun.
