I've been talking with Jeremy, (Art is only working weekends) and he has now told me there are two fuels pump part numbers for the 04. One costs around $275 and the other $345. I asked what the difference was and he didn't know. My only thought is one is diesel and the the other is gas but I would think they would know that. Does California have a special pump? Anyway I don't know which one I need for a upgrade for my 03. Jeremy suggusted I buy the cheaper of the two, but didn't say specifically say why. My 03 is a RCSB, any sugestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

The fuel pumps changed from 03-04. The 04 pump has about 10 psi more pressure. It is possible that this was a mid year change but this would be the first I have heard about it.

There is a different pump depending on which size tank you have. 26 or 35.

All of the part numbers that I tried to look up from the 04 catalog don't come up.
I would just go to RockAuto and get the complete unit for about $170 shipped.
The pump seems to be the same for the 3.7, 4.7, and 5.7 the difference is the tank sizes.

yeah, that pump with screen was only like $161.
I looked on there before at fuel pumps cause for a while we thought my nephews wife needed a new pump for her Focus and the prices were less than half the dealer.

...some of the early 04's had different connectors than the later 04's....who knows if the fuel pump connectors may be different?

RockAuto only carried the one number for the 26 gal tank. Henderson had two numbers with quite a price difference. I did see where they said, comes with basket. So maybe the other doesn't come with the basket. I'll beable to comment better once I have it apart. Just wondering what it'll take for me to install the one from RockAuto, with my luck I know I have the wrong one lol.....
