Wipers

Hi all, got a problem with my wipers, they randomly come on stop in the middle of the windshield only work on hi speed but now have stopped altogether now, looked at ordering a new wiper switch/stalk but there is 3 to choose from for my model truck, has anybody else experienced this?

I have not sorry to say! Coming on all by itself would lead me to think is was the switch itself but I could be wrong there as the switch just controls the commands going to the tipm attached to the fuse box.

The mult-function switch is suppose to be the common failure point. Looking at the wiring diagram you will see it is a maze of resistors. The multi-function switch works by selecting a resistance. This voltage level then triggers a function associated to the selected voltage operating at a computer level signal. (5v] might try cleaning.

Thanks for the info, been playing around with it and when I operate the wiper switch i can hear the relays clicking in the fuse box, I've uncovered the wiper mtr and given it a gentle tap with the ignition on and the wipers switched on and they have started working so I would say that there could be a problem with the wiper mtr its self

Yes that could be an issue also as there is a park switch inside it and if it opens while the truck running the motor will run back to the park position and if it cannot find it it will keep running or random at times

Any updates on this? My 05's wipers just quit working all of a sudden. They were working when I parked it a week ago and when I went to move it yesterday so I could snow blow they wouldn't come on at all. They had a minor glitch previously, where they wouldn't always return to the home position when you were using them and would shut them off, they'd stay wherever they were when you shut them off. You'd have to turn them on/off again and they'd return home like they were supposed to.
