removing leaves.

I'm new to the Ram world. I just bought a 2011 standard cab Hemi. I love it. I noticed in the door jam that leaves( from a tree) were stuck behind the hinges. So I started to remove them and noticed that more were sticking out from behind the foam. I stuck my fingers back in there and could feel alot more behind the lower fender by the door. So I took off the plastic shield off at the lower corner of the fender and then loosened the inner fender. I removed about 2 handfuls of old wet leaves. These were rust causing type leaves that would probably stay moist most of the time. I checked the passenger side and it appeared there were no leaves. I went ahead and removed the inner fender and found almost as many on that side. FYI, it may be something to check, especially if you own a used truck. It is a problem I just happened to run across. But it is one that could potentially cause rust within the fender. Good luck.

Good to have you here. Glad you were able to get to those leaves. Yuck!

Gregg you would be surprised but yes they do cluster down there. A good place to keep clean along with the rear fender lips

Is this the area between the inner fender and the cab?

With as often as I pull the inner fenders I'll never collect anything in that area. Might be worth while to pull the liners and spray some under coating in there.
