Turns out the timing chain set that my engine builder wanted to use to replace the the first oem chain set using LS offsets is on back order. He cancelled that order and ordered the Progear chain set using links instead of rollers that Ric posted earlier. My preference is using link chain over rollers.

Progear is one of those few companies that has their respective crap together.....you'll like their Chains been using them in LS and G1/G2/G3 hemis for a few years.

one of the back burner Insane projects is trying to modify a SBM Camdex set on a G3 , Needs a custom chain , the Cam is Higher in the G3 by almost an inch. the other issue is the crank gear......most likely way to do it is to go external Oil Pump.

The 392 in the GTx I'm using Smith Bros Adjustable 7/16x.095 , tight fit I drilled out the push rod passages with a 35/64th bit to give me some extra clearance, I wanted to have as much valve train stability as a I could get @ 8k rpms , remember the Apache heads that are on it now are stock port width which allowed me to get away with it. if I would widen the port and needed to tube the push rod passages I would of gone with 3/8th with .145 wall both Smith Bros and Maton can make those .Smith Bros are a 1 day turn around, last Matons I ordered took a week.......with the .145 wall there is no oiling the lifters via Push rod. the tightest I'd go and still keep push rod oiling the lifters is 3/8 X .083.

All good information Ric... I need to see what I have to work with using the edelbrock heads. I spoke to the builder about shimming the rockers for alignment. I'm using the reverse flow johnson lifters so lifter oiling won't be an issue. Plus I have orfice (.045") in the 4 rocker arm shaft oil feed supply holes. My thought is to still use hollow push rods, but it's not necessary with the mods I listed. Will update when I decide what I'll use. Thx

Ok we been on hold with edelbrock engineers. They will not say if the push rod holes can be enlarged .060" without breaking into the port. I'm being critical of them because if I had their drawings and casting data I could definitely say what the wall thickness is. If anyone has information on the largest push rod diameter that has been used and willing to share I would appreciate it. The current plan is we are going with 3/8" diameter push rod and leaving the hole unmolested.

Billy @ GFB has been my goto guy for a lot of this build. I introduced him to my engine builder as they are both very knowledgable on mopar engines. Billy has built a lot of gen III and Charles has built a lot of wedge motors.. This has been a very meticulous build with every detail throughly researched. Charles wants to put it on his dyno. I also would like to see it on the dyno but I don't want to foot the bill, especially with Willy needing funding. Thinking out loud i'm thinking of the new motor going into red running na and red's engine going into Willy. The main issue is Red's combo runs flawlessly. It's truely a sweet setup..

If I had an Eddy head to cut open ..I would ,just can't justify the cost of buying one head to open it up.

My guy @Eddy says there's about .20 in that area , he said they left about .220-.250 in all the critical porting areas for the porters to open up the ports.
What I would is find the center of the port , flip the head over ,measure out to the inside of the pushrod hole, then take a snap gauge measure the inside of the port between the pushrod humps, split that number in half , that should get you with in .010.

The other is contact Ray Meyers [email protected] I know he's ported a few Eddy heads

I've asked my guy at Eddy a few times if I could get a "throw away/bad casting" a few times he says he can't one, they get melted down if they don't pass QC.
