Ok heres a dumb question.

Why is the radiator on the 04 5.7 set 3/4 of an inch off the plumb?

Hi Red, there must be a reason, but I've looked everywhere and cant find an answer.
is it the norm, or am I the only person with an off plumb radiator I wonder?

The radiator expands and contracts with temperature, so the radiator needs to float to a certain degree. On the bottom it has a post that fits in a rubber grommet. And the other side it is a u shape saddle that sits over the lower cross member allowing the radiator to expand. Top has bolts going through more rubber grommets.

I thought it was because you are south of the equator and the coolant will swirl counter clockwise.

Thankyou Gentlemen, my mind can rest easy. Its nice to know that its not just my BS which flows the other way.

It all came about when i took the radiator to the machine shop to get a flush and i was asked the question.
I thought of buying a new one but at $NZ400 it was a bit rich compared to the $85 for a flush.

Its like Chrysler coolant concentrate is $120 for 5 litres, so i put in Zerex Hoat at $60 for 5litres.
