The last two time I have attempted to put gas into the NEW 2016 Ram 1500, 5.7 with 3100 miles. I had trouble pumping gas into the tank. The gas pump kicks off after 3 or 4 sec. It does not matter how fast you are pumping or the location of the nozzle. I dropped it off at the location dealer. I have read some forums where people are havening issues with some older trucks but have not seen any on a 2016.
My 07' had that problem, so the dealer replaced the FUEL INLET CHECK VALVE under warranty back in 2014. That might be the problem on your truck. My truck would also puke a bunch of fuel out when the tank was full, not every time, but when it happened, it was a mess, and costly.
Just received word from the dealer, they have ordered a gas tank. They said the check valve in the tank was bad. I had read a forum where a guy had the same issue with his truck but it corrected its self after going over a rough road. I think mine was caused by a rough road. I had just driven on a rough dirt road prior to stopping for gas. I had put gas in my truck between five and tem times with no issues. Thanks for the replies.
Ok that's kinda what I figured they would find as the new systems have no actual vent valves anymore therefore making it virtually impossible for it to be an air issue unless it's the rollover valve where the filler neck vent goes to!
