P0172 error code

Hello all,
2003 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 264kmi

Truck running extremely rough, barely idles. Throwing code P0172

Here's what I've done so far
Replaced all plugs. Plug under coil pack on cylinder 3 backed itself out? Wtf never heard of that... Replaced coil on cylinder 2.

New wires, new 02 sensors both upstream/downstream. Replace crank position sensor and knock sensor. Truck still running rough barely idle. Smiths out at higher rpm.

Still getting error code 0172.

I'm at my wits end and probably just going to have it towed to the dealer unless someone here might have a solution ?

Thanks in advance....

Check O2 sensor, or a clog cat converter, somebody with more experience will stop by , tomorrow with a more definitive answer.

Thanks ric, I hope to hell not a clogged cat... both 02 sensors have been replaced

Correction on original post, I replaced the ignition coil on cylinder 3 not 2.

That’s a bank1 rich code. There’s a few things that can make bank 1 do this. First off do you access to something that can see data so we know if we have a sensor sending a voltage issue causing it.

Few possible things to cause that code: 02senaors , misfire, stuck injector, work cam, clogged catt to name a few.

1 cylinder normally won’t set that code it has to be a few or while bank affected to make it run really bad and set that code. Given that it’s a 2003 it’s gonna likely be a sensor issue or a catt.

What did the old plugs look like? Were they all the same? Any damage? I've never had a plug back out. How are your vacuum hoses, tight?
