Need some help!!!!!!

I was trying to hook some after market switches up and did something wrong. Got a check gauges light. Thought I blew a fuse and after checking found non bad. Tried to start the truck, no starter and does nothing. Tried a battery reset with no luck. With the key turned on got no head light's and the dash light's went out and get a pulse (like power on and off) and a red light flashing. What the heck did I do. Need some advice on what to check. Heellllpppp!!!! lol.

Did you return the wires you cut into back to their original positions? What wires were they? Color code? When you shorted out the wiring was the ignition turned on? There is a fuse something like #55 or #57 comes to mind. I'll look at my schematic's to see if I can find something.

Didn't cut any wire's, I did tap into the cig lighter. Just got done ohming out all the fuses and all are good. I had the switches hook up and was checking a bad connection at the switches from the dash light's. Repaired it turned power back on and shortly after when thing's went out. This is weird, last time the cluster acted funny the battery was out. Hmmmm The battery was down after setting a couple of week's, charged it and been fine since. What's the chance of a battery going bad in the middle of this? I'm going back out to check a couple more thing's and I think I'll put the charger on the battery just to check it. I'll report back in a little while.

WTH!!! Went back out hooked up the charger. Battery looked to be charged, gauge was just above 0 to 1. Checked over some wiring I did. (what the switch is for, more at a later date on that.) and disconnected It to see if that had any effect on the problem. Glanced at the charger on the way to the cab, Charger gauge is all the way over now. Got in the cab turned the key on and everything's working now. Hooked the wiring back up and check again, still working. Look's like I have a battery on it's way out or something drawing power. Being it was dead a week ago, when it shouldn't have been and It's gotten cold I'm guessing it's the battery. I'll take it and get it checked asap. I'm relieved it's that and not something worse. Talk about timing on it's going bad. lolol

Bad battery.. mine was 4 years old, worked perfect. Notice a little slow cranking, trickle charged over night. No indication that day and dead the following morning. When they die they go quickly.

Yea, last one did that Greg at about 2yrs old. This one replaced it and it's about 2yrs old. Thing I don't understand is my original Mopar battery lasted 8yrs.. What did Mopar do to get them to last that long? (Anything else I've ever bought never has lasted more than 3/4 yrs.) Guess it's time for battery #4 for the Ram. No more Autozone Gold's this time. Any suggestion on a better brand?
