Issue with my sons 2005 1500 QC 4wd hemi

ok guys this is gonna be long and ill try to be as descriptive as I can but its probably gonna be pretty vague

He was driving and he came to a stop and it died. Then it wouldn't start. Essentially the battery had no juice. I tested the alternator, tested the battery and both were fine. I replaced the starter which fixed the starting issue.

However, I was a little stumped on the other issue. The PCV was pretty nasty so I replaced that. I pulled the TB off and cleaned it. I also got rid of the stupid spacer that was in it when he bought it. Then I "relearned" the TB and took it for a drive. Started fine but same thing at a stop. The RPM's drop real low, bounce around a bit like a TPS issue then it dies.

I figured I would drive it a bit hoping maybe the PCM just needed some time to reset. So I go down a road that I dont have a bunch of lights or stop signs and about 3 miles down the road i hear a big "POP" underneath the truck. Almost like a real bad drive train studder or something and it dies. Only now it won't restart. The brand new starter almost sounds like its free spinning and the motor isn't turning over.

I just got it home and I'm over it for the night. Its miller time. I'll probably pull the starter tomorrow and see if uts in one piece and go from there. Any ideas?

The only codes are

P2320 ignition coil 7 secondary circuit-insufficient ionization

P2302 ignition coil 1 (same thing)

Those have been in there a while (at least a year or so) and it wont even let me erase them

Pull the starter and see if the crank is still intact and not broken off. Also pull the crank sensor out and inspect it for damage as the tone wheels are known to explode sometimes

Great. Well I guess ill do that tomorrow. I plan on doing plugs and the shorty MSD street fire coils since they worked so well on my othef truck but I dont want to do any of that until I make sure there's no internal damage

Pulled the starter and the part of the flywheel I can feel seems fine. I put power to the starter and it spun but the gear didn't extend out so I sent my son up to exchange that.
It seems weird that it would start fine 2 or 3 times then do that but it happens I guess.
I pulled the crank sensor out. The tone wheel seems fine (the little bit I can feel)

Should I replace #1 and #7 coils?

I pulled the coil off from cylinder 1 and it doesnt look pretty. Is this swelling a big issue or pretty common from moisture

I wouldn't run a swollen coil... if it shorts it can put more current through the pcm circuits then they are designed for..

Well I got the new starter put in and tried it. This is like nothing I've ever seen or heard before. Everything turns over but it has this "whine" as its turning over. I actually thought maybe the motor was seized up at first but everything is moving. It just sounds like nothing coming out of the exhaust. Its really weird. I think I'll probably buy all new coils, shorty wires and plugs but I don't wanna spend money on that stuff until I make sure this isn't anything major

I have a feeling I may have snapped a timing chain or something. Not positive. If my compression guage is working then I have ZERO conpression is cylinder 1
