HELP! 2012 Ram 2500 no start!

Hello,

I drove my truck 3 days ago and today when I went to start it it cranked but would not run, I then poured gas into the throttle body and it ran for a few seconds, Therefor its obvious a fuel issue.

What I have done:

1. Checked all wires running to fuel pump as best as I coud see.
2. Checked Fuel pump relay fuse
3. Bypassed the fuel pump relay
4. Scanned via OBD II and have a P0627 code ( Fuel pump control circuit open)
P0456 Code (small Evap system leak)

I have also been getting a gas cap trouble code and replaced the fuel cap and still get it at times.

I am guessing the fuel pump is bad but its baffling that it ran like a striped ape the day 3 days before parking it and now it wont run.

one last thing I began to run Lucas fuel treatment in it about a month ago which helped my MPG

Let me know what you all think, I really do not want to start throwing time and parts at it, I am considering having it towed to the dealer?

If you have power and ground on the two larger wires going to the fuel pump then it’s deff a pump that’s bad. That code pretty much means the pump is open or bad.

Charged392,

In your opinion would it be easier to take the bed off or drop the tank?, Im seasoned in working on trucks but Im new to the RAM trucks and am looking for as much help as I can get.

once I gain access to the fuel pump ill test the ground and positive and see if I have power

Thank You!

Drop the tank unless you have a cherry picker and feel comfortable lifting the bed up. I simply drop the tanks feed, vent, filler and the straps and it’s down.

On my 03 I would siphon the gas out of it. Put a floor jack with a board under it to hold the tank in place. Drop the straps. Then lower the tank enough to reach in and disconnect the plug and hoses.

Try listening at the tank fill tube while the ignition key is turned on. If it is like the earlier models it eill run the fuel pump for a few seconds.
