Fire extinguisher thoughts

I've been carrying a 1lb general bottle in the door on red since a fire a few years ago. I bought a 2.5lb halon bottle to replace the old one. Just wondering if anyone has a full fire suppression system on their truck or what the general recommendation is.

The little extinguisher should be enough for anything you will run into if it’s not then sad to say it’s done for!

It’s a scary thought, just like carrying a gun. Hope you never use it, but when you need it, boy are you glad it’s there

My mustang caught fire once many moons ago and I tell you it is a helpless feeling, thankfully it was right across the street from a car-audio install place and one of the guys saw it and came out running with an extinguisher and put it out. Ever since that time I carry an extinguisher with me.

I had some hoses catch fire inter the truck while we were using the torch to heat up the exhaust manifold bolts. We didn’t have our safety bucket out so I had to run as fast as I could to get the garden hose

Might be over kill, but Amerex 720 10Lbs , I buy 14 every year for the job, and one for me.
back in June 89, I didn't need the bottle for myself, we where down Woodhaven rd during some late night deal, one of the guys who hung around us, flipped his Fox body mustang, when we flipped it back on it's wheel, a small fire light up under the hood, I grabbed my bottle, my cousin Joie grabbed his , put the fire out as the cops were rolling in.
