Exhaust manfold bolt size ?

Anyone know the size of the bolt for the factory exhaust manifold ?

I got time today to tackle the broke exhaust manifold bolt. I pulled off the manifold and the only bolt that was broke was passenger side 1st one by the firewall. I tried welding a nut but it wouldn't take, so i decided to use a left hand drill bit. No wonder it wouldn't weld, it appears as if the manifold had been off before and someone filled the bolt hole with aluminum ! I drilled and tapped it enough to hold. Wonder why someone would do that ? I thnk i am gonna helicore it

Yeah it is weird, never saw that before. 1st thought was someone botched a broke bolt removal and sealed the bolt hole up but I don't see any signs of that

You will have to determine the best length for your application. Different manifolds require different lengths. OEM length bolts are too long for header flanges.

It's pretty much accepted the smaller diameter provides better lower end torque, the larger for higher rpm range. I would recommend using a torque cam. If you put the wrong cam in you will defeated it's purpose.

I am no doubt out of the loop, but I believe they basically come in two styles. Shorty's and long tube. Shorty's replacing the stock manifolds and LT requiring a little more fabrication. It is easy to run two cats on the LT and Y pipe. You can cut a section from the Y pipe the length of the cats and weld them in. This places them just above the cross member.
