Ball Joints

Looking to replace my ball joints and tie rod ends but have never done a ball joint replacement. Looks pretty straight forward though.

My question I guess is more around the joints and brands. I see some, Carlis, that are rebuildable but also about $600. I have seen others that are more OEM and not rebuildable. Have read a lot about Moog going down hill and should consider them anymore.

Thoughts and advice on this one?

I replaced the ball joints last year on my 03. I went to Rockauto and choose the ones I wanted. They list several with a range of prices.

Ball joints are not hard at all with the press and a good impact gun. For the lowers I use a big hammer is all to remove come rite out normally.

Rock on...thanks man.

Looks like Moog has a pretty good set. Might go that route.

Also, throw some anti seize on the threads and the taper. That way if you're the rust belt, you won't have as much of a headache pulling them off. Or, if you use cheap ones that need replaced in 10k miles, then it'll still be super easy to disassemble.

Ohio winters are hell on my cars. and I keep them garaged and usually clean the under carriage if it was an exceptionally dirty week or terribly salty.

I replaced my lower ball joint's with these. They seemed good quality and are greaseable. (IIRC the engineer that designed them use to work for Moog.) Give them a look at. Sorry for the late post I haven't been able to post and kept getting the 3 character thing.

Thanks all for the input...just ended up going all Moog. So many mixed reviews but more on the positive side.

So how bad was it to change them out?
