5.7 stalls and surges when cold

I have a 05 5.7 drive train swapped into my 02 Dakota. So far it's running great after it warms up. But when the engine is cold it will stall and die when I come to a stop, most of the time it surges right before it quits. I can put it in park and restart it and it will be fine for the rest of the day. any suggestions?

I would say it's probably something in the tune you are using..

Bone stock 2005 5.7 ECM, the only mod to the ECM is the Dakota's VIN #

Is the IAT located in it's original location? This is a reach, but a possibility...

Check the throttle body. Most likely it needs cleaning. Replace the pcv valve at the same time.
