5.7 crank specs.

im measuring crank journals, mains and rods. on 06 hemi 5.7,ok say a main is supposed to be between(64.992-65.012) but i measured 65.17, aparently i measured it wrong, right.i guess what im asking for some ideas on what size main bearings do i need?????? on rods 53.988-54.008 is what they are supposed to be i got 54.09 again i must have measured wrong. again would i get std. rod bearings??????

I think you mean 65.017 correct? If so it looks like all the stuff is right at factory new type thickness almost like it's never been run before. In this instance you would basically want the thinnest bearings they have out for the crank by your measurements.

Question, is using plastic gauge still an acceptable method of checking bearing clearance or is it just old school.

Then that's how I would do the final assembly check.
