06 ram 1500 slt mega cab w/5.7L

Hello all! I new to the forum and just bought my first hemi back on November. Unfortunately the dealership(which was also my previous employer) sold me a smorgasbord of repairs I need to do. I was curious if anyone has experience with diy replacement of the water pump and heater core and what time frame I can expect to spend on these repairs. I am a lube tech professionally, with experience with 6.7 Cummings water pump replacement. The shop I currently work for quoted me 2.5 hours for the water pump and 6 hours for the heater core. I would rather do the repairs myself rather to pay 8.5 hours @ $70-100 per hour. Thanks

Water pump is pretty easy, gotta take the clutch fan and fan shroud off then the water pump is right there. On the heater core, I’m no help. I don’t know how much of the dash needs to come apart to reach it.

water pump is simple fan and bolt removal. the heater core needs the ac evacuated and the dash removed. i can literally walk someone thru the dash pull as i have done them so many times at work myself. the dash pull will take you around 5 hrs if you have never done it before 2 if you have out and back in it just scares people.
