04 Hemi R exhaust lifter noise

I have an exhaust lifter tap on my driver side. I bought the truck new. I have had no mechanical issues at all. (Knock on wood) I have read the hemi design is the reason for the lifter noise, even the old 69, 70 426 hemi is known to make lifter noise only worse. Engine has some miles on it. Anybody's take on this.

With being a 04, it could have a broken valve spring. Do you have a misfire? Anyway I would check the springs as a dropped valve can be costly....

No misfire. Engine runs smooth. Figured it might be a valve seat. I dont ever run it hard. Engine has some miles on it but it may be possible rocker arm has some wear on it or like you say spring could be worn out as well. Gonna pull the valve cover and inspect. Was hoping to hear it is normal.

If no missfire, than you may have a broken manifold bolt making a tic noise...

I just replaced the stock exhaust manifolds with headers. Noise is more evident with larger exhaust. I thought it was injectors until the switch to the headers.

Broken stock exhaust manifold bolts and or manifold does happen on our Hemi's. My 04 had both break on the passenger side before I installed headers and took care of the problem.

OK, just saw you have headers already. Did you check for a header leak?

Also, the notorious Hemi tick can be louder with headers installed. But tick is usually on passenger side.

Checking the valvetrain will give you some peace of mind.

Yes. Everything is tight. Gonna check out the valves. Was hoping to hear ticking is normal. Will update my situation.

If no miss and headers on there now you will hear the valve train lot better. If it runs fine rite now I would just drive it and not worry about it
