I am using 6.1 heads and intake on a 5.7 Based 400ci Stroker motor in a 04’ Ram quad cab...

Originally I was using Dynatech 1” 3/4 primaries and 2.5” collector.... I plan on going 3” dual exhaust and am looking to use headers of 1”7/8 primaries with 3” collectors. Also the 6.1 heads have the D-port openings...

My options are to re-use my Dynatech or look for other headers.... but I want to take advantage of 3” dual pipes so I Def. Need 3” collectors...

Pacesetters offers 04 Ram headers with 3” collectors, 1” 3/4 primaries Regular 5.7 head ports, that I can grind in needed,

This is the option I want to go with and I am curious if anyone knows if they may fit:

Stainless works 09’-16 Ram headers with D-ports, 3” collectors and 1”7/8 primaries....

https://stainlessworks.net/dodge-ram-2009-14-headers

The d-ports are perfect for my 6.1 heads but will the shape and size of the headers work being it is still a Dodge Ram with 5.7 block just a few years old older.... (I do have a good exhaust shop with mandrel bender and lots of experience ready to install)

I’m thinking there’s a good chance I can make this work, worst case I return them and pay a 10%restocking fee...and go with pacesetters

Here are some cheap headers that might make a starting point for a custom installation.

the 09+ headers will fit, there are some dings that will have to happen.

I have NOT tried these yet, but from my experience of trying to fit 03-05 Ram headers in my 75 Ramcharger, I'm confident these will fit in the 02-05 Ram.....but here again I HAVE NOT tried it yet.

I had to make my 2in from scratch for my GTx , on the other 05 I used a set of Kooks for the 09.

I went ahead and bought a set of these just because of their price. At $200 I won't hesitate to cut them up.

A shop owner friend of mine used a set of the D-shaped port headers from ProTuningLab for a 6.1 swap into a 2006 Ram 1500 RCSB. The customer has already purchased the headers before the build took place so he decided to make them work. My understanding from him is that they worked quite well with just a few minor modifications. If I can get him to send me a few pics of the headers I will post them.

I used a set of JBA's which, just like Rick said, had to have a minor ding put into a tube on the passenger side and then both had to be basically modified so the collectors pointed inwards a small amount as the collector flange wanted to hit the frame on both sides. I have been running them now for about four years with no issues.

I used a ratchet strap to pull the collectors away from the frame rails, put the strap around the collectors and pulled them in towards each other, had to heat the D-side up a little bit to get them to pull towards each other evenly.
