if your talkin about the little tiny muffler on the end of your exhaust by the tailpipe, well its not at a whole lot really just helps keep the exhaust noise down and drown out the sound of mds

I have a STS turbo on my truck. I installed a SRT10 rear tail pipe with resonator. It has quieted down the exhaust sound as well as the turbo whistle. Most of the time when I race someone, they didn't even hear the turbo. When I tell them I have a turbo, they have this confused look on their face that is priceless.

As previously stated, the resonator simply drowns out exhaust noise. Note that the 06 RAMs and some 07's have dual resonators after the Y-pipe with a muffler in between them. Absolutely ridiculous if you ask me. Why would the manufacturer's want to drown out the sound of a RAM equipped with a HEMI? Besides the MDS, who cares how loud it is?
