Gentlemen, I just purchased some Pacesetter longtube headers and stage 8 bolts. I know I need the Mopar Performance gaskets as well. The question is when I go to my muffler shop for the install, I guess he will be cutting and welding to my Magnaflow Y-pipe.But what do I need to prevent the CEL codes? How do the nonfoulers work to trick the sensors? Do you do that before anything else?

You will need to get the pacesetter y or have your muffler shop make you one. The pacesetters have 3" collectors and the mf y is 2.5. You can try non foulers or Sims to trick the comp. Or you can have the rear o2 sensors turned off in a custom tune.

When I did mine I used the Pacesetter off road "Y" pipe which is 3". I instal dual cats mounted behind the collectors, shortened the "Y" pipe by the lenght of the cats and mounted them up. The 03 has only two O2 sensors. I mounted the forward sensor in the passenger side collector and added a bung on the crossover part of the "Y" pipe (after the cat)and mounted the rear sensor there. This is actually sensing the driver side post cat. I have never had a code. Did the install in my drive with one trip to the weld shop.

I am staying with the one stock cat, so where the O2 sensors are now; do you screw a non fouler into a sensor and adjust it out from direct exhaust flow thereby reducing the heat? After Christmas I will talk to my exhaust guy and see if he is up to the job. We have two good shops here in town but surely do mostly cat-back work..

To keep things simple you can screw the front O2 sensor into the collector bung, either side will do and install a bung after the cat and mount your rear O2 sensor there. Do a little research so you understand how the sensor's work and they will work great.

So I talked to my exhaust guy today and it didn't go well.First the headers measured like 6 inches into the cat and he acts like it's a big deal moving the cat back.Secondly, he mentioned something about the driveshaft and fabricating a y-pipe how that might have clearance issues. I have read the Pacesetter longtubes worked on 2wd and 4wd.The long story short, can't even get a quote because he can't cipher how long it may take.He said it's not worth the cost for so little gains??? he is a Chevy guy...

Technically the cat is not suppose to be relocated. But I haven't heard it being a problem with muffler shops for many years. One of my first configuration changes when I ran a single cat was to move the cat and muffler as far back as possible, This was in preparation for installing headers. I would find another shop to do the work.

Not sure if I posted this link before but some good pictures here of how Truckin151 did it with 2 stock cats and pacesetter Y. Good Luck!

I actually copied Truckin's design using his pictures when I installed my LT's and dual cats. However I believe the OP is installing LT's using a single cat. This will require the cat and muffler to be moved reaward to get the room needed under his truck.
