Magnaflow Cat-back or Mufflex?

I'm trying to figure out which one I want. I know that the Dod14 is the most aggressive kit you can get from Mufflex, and MagnaFlow only offers one cat-back kit for mine. It's part number 16869. According to the tech guy at Magnaflow, their kit comes with the 18" muffler. My problem is that I want an aggressive sound, but without the resonance. Oh, and a little hp will be nice. :-)
I'm leaning towards the mufflex because I can add tailpipes later if I want too.

Thoughts?

If you want some bark keep the factory stuff and have an "aero3030xl" or "aero3030" put into factory piping.

The Magnaflow catback kit you mentioned actually comes with a 22" muffler. I ran the exact kit on my own truck. It sounds perfect to me, but I do not like loud exhausts. Its is fairly quiet at idle and low rpm, but sounds deep and aggressive at higher rpms.

If you want a louder rumble without being too obnoxious on the highway, then you are correct in looking at the DOD14M. That is what I would go with based on what you are looking for. The cost of the Mufflex kit and some bolt on 5" tips will be about $300 cheaper than going with the Magnaflow catback system.

Well.....I have decided to get just the muffler, and have a friend at a muffler shop to install it. Imho, it will basically be the same thing as the mufflex, but cheaper. About 150 bucks cheaper. :-)

The benefit of the Mufflex kit is that it is bolt on and it is all stainless. Most shops will use aluminized steel which is going to rust over time. If the shop is installing this with stainless piping, it will probably cost close to the same as Mufflex.

Either way, I think you will be happy with the sound. The 14" sounds nice on these trucks. Loud enough to be heard, but not too overpowering.
