Exhaust question

Hi everybody,

I have a question for anyone who is a exhaust fanatic. I replaced my cat converter with a straight pipe, bolt on not welded, and it came out nice and is sealed up tight. I noticed that the exhaust is very loud and makes a cracking sound at certain rpm's. It reminds me of the way some vehicles sound when they have those long tube glass pack exhausts on them.

Why is my 2003 Ram 2500 4X4 Hemi that has 3" pipes going through a Flowmaster muffler sounding like this? Do i need a bigger size muffler than what i have now? What do you think i should do?

Please advise,

Thank you!

Often popping on roll down is caused by exhaust leaks.
