Exhaust and wideband o2 questions

Hey yall. Hope everyone is staying cool during this heat wave. Absolutely nuts.

So I have recently put on some headers, cats, and a new y pipe. The headers and cats are fine but where the y pipe meets the cats and where the y pipe meets my existing exhaust leaks. Not terrible but it leaks. I know v bands are the best. How do you connect 2 different size pipes correctly? I have a 3 to a 2 1/2 clamp but its total ****. Should I just weld it in that spot? Just trying to fine tune my exhaust. I wanted to get everything installed and now I'm going back and making right.

Also might be a newbie question but with a wideband o2 sensor does it replace the factory and then hook to the stock wiring harness as well as the new gauge? Or did I need to weld in a bung specifically for the wideband? Last does it go upstream or downstream of the cat?

As always thanks yall

I really like the vbands. You can use a 3" to 2-1/2" reducer, pipe weld it on one end to your existing exhaust pipe and vband the 3" diameter side. This will allow you to disassemble maintenance and keep the system tight. The wide band is seperate from the oem sensors. It'll need a boss welded in front of a cat. Pick the side thats convenient for you.
