Decision Time and Questions

2012 Sport,,ready to do the muffler change. Question: Can you do straight duals on the newer models or is it best to go with the single muffler? Was told by one shop that straight duals will throw code. But I see were others have done it. If I go with single muffler do I need to change Y pipe also? Thanks guys

if you dont touch the cats or anything between the cats and the motor theres no issues. it is recommended to have a crossover pipe....if you wanted to run an x or h pipe and no mufflers there no reason to stop you....if the garage wont do it go else where. when i went striaght piped i went to 4 places...i couldnt give my money away

Note: What ever you do Ken. Always keep your old parts. Just in case you don't like the mod or you decide to trade in your truck.

^ that is a good idea, i did the same with my 08, when the lease was up i put everything back to stock and sold off the mods...its a nuisance keeping stuff around but worth it in the end.

Boy it is a tough world. Talked with local muffler shop he wants to put a 11 inch Magnaflow on the truck for $200 or $300 for 2 ,11 inch mufflers and tru duals. I did not know they made a 11 inch magnafow. Talked with another shop he said 14 inch is better but true duals would mess up the truck and third one said $90 to replace muffler with 18 inch and $210 for dual 18;s. I believe I will scream but that probably won't help much.

Those prices don't sound that bad to me. It is frustrating trying to pick an exhaust, though. I've been back and forth on duals, SIDO, DIDO, CherryBomb Extremes, Magnaflow 14" and AeroTurbine 3030xl which I had and loved on my last Hemi. I didn't know there was an 11" Magnaflow either. I might have to look into that.
