Best short headers for a 2014 1500

This has probably been asked many times here. But what are the best fitting shorty headers for a 2014 1500 Hemi.
I can't use LT as I live in the only county in Idaho that has smog checks so you have to have some that looks stock.
I am totally amazed at the exhaust manifolds on this truck, Chrys had to have spent a mint on the development of the engine and then spent $25 bucks on the manifolds, just seems odd.
Fit is most important to me I'm old and don't want to have to fight them any more than I have to.

Maybe do a little research on SRT or RT headers and see if they will do anything for you. Good luck...

Looks don't have anything to do with performance. As long as it passes the emissions test I don't see a problem with it. If I'm not mistaken, most, if not all are 50 state legal.

Any time the cat is moved is illegal. Long tubes require moving or removing the cat. Shorties are generally legal. Not a expert but believe this is federal and may or may not be enforced locally. In Virginia I use long tubes and a off road "Y" pipe with two cats, where as my truck originally came with a single cat which technically makes it illegal. I've never had a problem with inspections. Good luck..

I guess technically speaking it would make it illegal but, with 2 cats I would assume it's running a hell of a lot cleaner than it did with one. I'm running long tubes with 2 high flow spun cats and all I had to do was lengthen the passenger rear O2 sensor wires by about 7 in. or so.

BBK has direct replacement shorty headers that are made to fit the 09-14. I am not sure if they have been Carb certified yet or not to make them 50 state legal but since you do not have to do anything to the cats there is a good chance you will not have any issues with them.

The only 50 state legal headers for your truck are the JBA shorties. They are good for about 12hp/tq to the wheels.

Guess I'm going to have to save up for the JBA's, BBK only makes one port design for everything.
Got to get my Tuner first.

The BBK ports are oval shaped. They used to be round, but fixed that about 2 years ago.

I agree with you on the tuner first though. You will get much better bang for buck out of a custom tune than you will from shorties.

That's good to know as there headers are a lot less than JBA's and I find no one complaining about fit.
