About to dump exhaust and have some questions.

I went to the shop today and I am almost ready to pull the trigger on dumping my exhaust. I just want to know has anyone ever had prolems with dumped exhaust? Is heat an issue? The shop told me they would do it for $30 and so the price is right. I just dont want a 30 buck fix end up costing some big bucks in problems. Thanks for any and all help.

No issues with heat... or anything else for that matter. The only problem you might have is if you're going to use a high-flow muffler (like Aero, FM, etc.) you might have an inside-the-cab drone if the dump location is too far forward.

What do you mean by drone?

Inside of the cab will be quite noisy... like a constant loud hum of sorts. Hard to describe but you'll know it when you hear it

Trust me, you will know if it drones, and no radio will be able to cover it up if your muffler is in the stock location you should be fine.

A Hi-Flow straight through designed muffler usually wont drone. My Dynomax ultraflo has no drone and I have it dumped right of my pacesetter Y pipe.

Johnny, do you ever get fumes in the cab when your windows are down with your exhaust that short?
