whippled 3rd Gen?

Why aren't there any 3rd Gen Rams running a whipple setup? Is it not possible or something? I know you would need the newer timing cover and accessories but what else? Been thinking about loosing the Procharger and trying this.

Randall, are you using a serpentine belt? If so you really need to convert to a cog drive.. I'm completely serious, it makes for a whole new world..

What kind of cog setup do you have? I was looking into this earlier and chating with Kurtis Holland on another site. He runs a cog setup on a 4th gen. Got any pics?

Ha ha you know it is home made... and very simple.. I originally bought a couple of cheap belts figuring it would be hard on belts until I dialed it in. But found it was good and I'm still using the original belt. I cut the original mounting bracket so the sc can be moved forward to align with the cog pulley mounted to the front of the harmonic balancer. 3" pulley on the sc, 6" on the balancer. Bought a cheap bracket for a mustang and bolted the sc to it. Then made spacers to align it and cut away what I didn't need of the plate. Added guide pulleys both top and bottom. One is adjustable to take up slack. The belt is somewhat loose. Posting pictures is not working well today. If you pm me your cell # I'll beable to send them to you/anyone easier.

Sweet! So this is kinda what I envisioned. I was thinking of getting another Procharger plate and cutting it up to move forward and using spacers in between the the two like you did. I'm pretty good at fabricating stuff like this and have worked at a machine shop that I still have access to. I can figure out the locations of the guide pulleys once I get another plate. What did you do for the Harmonic pulley? Do you have a factory one and added a cog on the front of it or something like an ATI? Pics of the Harmonic? 7702315588 if its easier to send.

Yes, I have a ATI balancer that I bolted the cog pulley to. The first piece I started with was the 6" cog pulley from eBay. It was 3" wide and I cut it to 2-3/8" wide. I use a 2" wide belt. There are 1" spacers between the mounting plates. Then adjusted the final alignment by making a custom spacer between the pulley and balancer. It is center concentric I machined using a spud on a lathe. Spins dead nuts... It's solid, with the spacers welded to the engine plate. You won't believe the boost response....
