Just out of curiousity, why did you leave the factory inlet box installed?

This is the first Veraram I have seen that didn't have the clear plastic cover over the air filter, or the intake tubes that go down to the bumper.

Looks good, I like it.

Thanks! I left it in because I've heard when it snows hard the snow can get in and clog the filter. This way I can swap it out when there's a big snow storm coming. Plus I live in Canada. Easy to do and will only take 10mins to swap it out.
They changed the design for the 4th gens to this way. Previous gens were the covered ones. These ones pull air from the grille.

I hope you pulled the factory filter out...don't want something getting into the box on top of the filter. Or you might be able to cap it off to keep the topside of the filter clean

Yep...I stuffed a rag in there and pulled out the filter.

I do like your idea of being able to switch back quickly for snow, it's not like anything else goes in that space anyway I'm also scared of the snow plugging filters and the 3rd gen ones aren't so easy to swap back which is why I'm looking at other options for a cai.

Thanks. I was going to go with S&B as I had one on my 09. But then found out how easy it is to swap out so decided to go this route.
