K&n cai

I installed a K&N CAI a while back and when I followed the instructions verbatim my truck acted all messed up. it had me install a rubber pipe going from the middle of the intake tube and hooked up to where the stock oil breather hose was. My truck would almost choke itself out and go as law os 300 rpms then rev itself up to 2200ish and kept doing it over and over. I let it try to tune itself and get use to the intake for about 10 minutes just like others suggested but it didnt work. Anyone else have this problem? I fixed it by hooking up the stock oil breather hose and just plugged the hole on the side of the intake and it worked just fine.

That's the exact one I have. It came with a rubber hose to attach from the CAI tube to where the oil breather hose connects too

The idle should not be bouncing around. The CAI is basically the same as stock except for flow and looks. Same function same everything. That port on the I take needs to be at least vented to air not plugged off. Also make sure your pcv valve is not stuck.

Pvc valve isn't stuck, my truck threw a code starting the throttle actuator was stuck wide open, but it wasn't because otherwise my truck would not be driveable as it was and would be running wide open 100% of the time.

The code was P2111

The instructions said to plug up the hose form the intake to where the oil breather was plugged into so I tried it

I installed the hose that came with the kit to the oil filler tube, than I installed a small cleanable filter to the other end of the hose. The hose was intended to run from the oil filler tube to the hose connector on the side of the intake tube. I put a rubber cap on that fitting. I didn't want oily air drawn into the intake tube, which would gum up the throttle body.

I've run it both ways. If you look closely at your filter you'll most likely not see any oil residue on it. Meaning it won't contribute to any TB fouling if connected to the inlet tube.

That code means for some reason the pcm saw the tb stuck at wot. This is not likely as the spring in it keeps it shut. So normally it's closed never open either a freak issue with the tb or it's going out on you.
