is the hemi hat? I've hade the AFE High Breather Stage 2, on my truck for a while now. And it utilizes the hemi hat. I'm just wondering if it's been too restrictive in not allowing my engine to breathe-in like it should. I'd like to keep the filter box. Just get rid of the hemi hat and replace it with a tube that goes directly to the AFE filter box from the throttle body that has the iat connector on it already.

Would post just a picture but doesn't work so well from a phone. Link should give you an idea of how restrictive it is (not much imo, more for noise) Hemi Hat

That's interesting! Thanks for the link. And I agree with you it doesn't appear to be that restrictive. The other day I lifted my hood right after I was through driving and I was amazed at how hot the engine compartment was, and I couldn't help but wonder if a person would benefit more from some kind of hood scoop to get some cooler air in the compartment. idk maybe I'll try and get a different hood for my next mod.

I just ordered an APM hood for mine but that's to give it functional ram air, I know more cool air never hurts the engine bay, but how much it helps is really hard to determine, analog gauge t-stat makes it a wee bit difficult to see.

That's probably the best option. Next might be the vararam.

Well I have a vararam intake but for 4th gens I didn't see an after market hood to make some functional use of ram air vs the intake by itself.
