Front mount turbo Hemiquest.

Sharadon has been toying around swapping in a 5.7 turbo'd Hemi in a Chrysler Conquest. Thus the nick name "Hemiquest". Having a few salvage yard engines laying around they brought one back to life. Its nothing special and built on a low budget from the extra parts that were laying around. Built from a bone stock 5.7 block and inards, all that was done was deglaze the cylinder walls and opened up the ring gaps. Even reused the bearings after a good inspection. Stock 5.7 heads supporting a fresh valve job, used 6.1 intake manifold and injectors with a Comp 273 camshaft and 6.1 pushrods. The engine was dressed up with new 6.1 coil pack covers and 6.1 fuel rails. Tuning is done with a standalone Mopar Performance ECM.

Behind the engine is a rebuilt Torqflite 904, don't know what the converter is ?, OEM rear end, stock rims and new tires.

Not being a turbo guy I have no clue as to what size or brand name the turbo is, but I'll find out and let you know. All the piping, headers and exhaust were fabbed up in house.

While working on my transmission today I heard em tuning on the chassis dyno. Denny found out while tuning that one bank was going slightly lean due to the small diameter of the 6.1 fuel rail X-over. After fattening up that side it made 557 hp/552 tq with 7 psi of boost. Denny will be making up or buying a new fuel rail system before turning up the wick, but so far so good for a budget built engine.
