4000 Rpm

Hey guys I bought my truck used about 4 months ago I installed a K&N 77 series intake. I thought I reset the computer when I was done. IF Im just standing at idle and I rev my engine it wont go past 4000 RPM's. I dont remember if that was a factory settings or if I didnt reset the computer. If Im driving on the highway It has no problem going over 4000 rpms.My question is to get my truck to rev over 4000 rpms while at idle do I need a Superchip or is this the way dodge programmed our trucks or did I do something wrong when I installed my intake.

The factory rev limiter will not let you rev above 4k while in park...and probably the same if you are stopped in Neutral. It's perfectly normal.

and smart. Do you really need to get that over 4000 RPM's sitting still? You can end up doing some serious damage, thats why they are there

Yup... perfectly normal. Now - with Superchips installed, that 4000 rpm rev limiter is removed

When I set up my G-Tech part of the procedure was to calibrate it to engine rpm. I had the tranny in park and held the rpm to 4000 and then 2000 with no problem...other than me having a problem holding it right on 4000 because the Hemi wants to rev so bad at that rpm with the Flashpaq tune

Mark, I still can't rev above 4k even SC is in there. Even with the highest rev limit set.....(when I'm in park or neutral)
Is there a certain setting to cancel this out?

That's strange... not sure why it's not working for you. On a side note, you really don't need to be reving the engine to that high of a rpm in N or P anyway (MHO).
