So is about time to change the oil again. WHile at Autozone i noticed RP was only .50 cents more than the penzoil platinum which i normally use. i was wondering what milage interval ya'll normally change your oil. Usually i try to stay around 4k.

When I was using RP I went 6K miles between changes

I change mine at 25k, or once a year. At six months, I change filter, and add oil as needed, to make it full.

AMSOIL doesn't have these limitations, "manufacturer’s recommended oil change intervals for vehicles under warranty".

I find it funny, NHEMI, that you're now suggesting RP's HPS oils. (not API)

While before you bashed AMSOIL's extended drain oils for not being API.

What made you change your mind?

So what you're saying is, you don't know what you're saying when you post these things.

Got it!

The question about your opinion was directed at you and no one else, NHEMI.

If you're going to talk about RP, know the facts and don't substitute your opinion in for RP's facts or any other oil for that matter.

All will be well then.

Simply put.. stop telling people what to do with oil based on your opinion. You even defy RP's recommendations which I find hilarious.

Perhaps it would be better if you two put the other on their "ignore" list...

You both are very knowledgeable folks - and it's very clear you have pride in what you use and/or sell. I just can't believe the level of drama on this subject (which has been going on for quite some time).

Please work it out between you or stop posting each other... either way we don't need to see this.

Thanks

My only real issue is the non-sense of telling people what to do based on opinion, no matter which oil it is.

Either follow the manufactures recommendations, that's what they're there for, or perform an oil analysis. That's the bottom line! Anything else beyond that, in this particular round, is just squabble.

Sorry about all this MrHemi. I just cannot tolerate misinformation.

To the OP of this thread.

I initially responded to your questions with specific info regarding RP oil and extended drain intervals. I actually use RP and have for a LONG time so I had good info for you.

Unfortunately in this forum it appears only one individual feels they are knowledgeable about oil and everyone else is clueless. I have tried to ignore this person but the insults and personal comments just get to be too much at times. Sadly I took this person's most recent "bait to fight" and this thread got out of control just as they hoped it would. I apologize to you for that.

I have removed all of my posts as a result of this and to end this fight. It isn't worth it. If you would like to hear my thoughts regarding your original question please shoot me a PM and I will gladly take the time to answer you in that way. Privately and beyond the eyes of others around here with an agenda.

Why does R.P. not make a bypass or remote filter sys ???? mine works great.

If you want the bypass on a 5.7L the easiest to run is the dual. The first filter is a full flow like your oem, the 2nd filter is the bypass filter. Relocating it makes it easier to change filters when needed.

For the 05' the normal filter is a EaO42 which is a 3?4" - 16 thread and would require a BK295 adapter.

I can save you some money if you don't already have an account.

I use Mobil synthetic 10-30. Change it every 5k or so. Mayb 4k. Is this to much? I never read the bottle etc. I don't feel comfortable changing my oil every 25k miles. I would love that tho b/c my changes run me around 60 or so. Depends on specials.

You're doing okay changing it that often. I wouldn't go longer then oem because what you're running is most likely a "full synthetic" which is a group 3 petroleum. AMSOIL carries group 3's, but they're an entry level product for people that don't want to use 100% synthetic.
