Tail Gate Seal Kit

I'm sure most of you have seen the tail gate seal kits that are available. I've installed these kits on previously owned F150's with no problems. I've made 2 attempts to install kits on my 2013 Longhorn and haven't had much luck making it stay attached to the bed. Every time I open the tail gate the seal has pulled away from the bed and stuck to the tail gate. As I have on previous installations I use alcohol to clean the surface to stick the seal to. Unfortunately it will not stay.

For those that have these tail gate seals, are you doing anything differently to get it to stick better?

I've had one of these on my truck since 05, never had that problem. I have heard of putting baby powder on the rubber seal to keep it from sticking but I have never tried it.

Good Luck!

Asking because I don't know...Do we need to seal the tail gate? Mine does not seem to leak.

I live in a area where the roads are very dusty. The gap between the tail gate and the bed allows a lot of dirt and dust to get into the bed. It looks terrible after a while. Especially with the Black spray-in bed liner.
