Engine Painting

I'm ordering painted or polished valve covers. I was looking at the engine and noticed the aluminum parts/pieces look tarnished and stained. So, what I want to do is remove a few pieces, tape off areas I don't want painted and commence to painting. I'm using the silver caliper paint at Auto Zone. It's durable and has a gloss finish. I’m just painting metal pieces up front (alternator, timing cover, ps pump, etc…

My son and I used this paint when we rebuilt his engine in the Thunderbird. The engine looks amazing! We used blue and silver. The problem is doing this on a NEW engine without tearing it apart.

I know, all this from a guy bitching and talking about trading because of the Hemi tick. F*ck it, it's just a tick! As you can tell I'm just a little particular with my rides... I keep them looking good. I think this will be well worth the effort; I'll do before and after photos.

Please feel free to give any input, advice or ideas. Thanks.

I'm with ya on painting the engine...I've already started. As soon as I get my chip paid for I want to order a set of those valve covers.
If it's not pillet it should be painted..

The way I look at it is the only thing that sets our trucks off from a million other Dodge trucks is the Hemi...I want mine to look it's best.
