Was thinking about trying to put a 09 bumper with the exhaust cut outs on my 05. Anyone know if it is possible? If so how much modification would be needed, or is it a direct bolt on?

Garage
Doubt it would fit as a direct bolt-on... '09 models got a complete chassis and suspension change.

I had this brainstorm last summer until I looked close at a new truck. The front edges of the bumper as it wraps around the rear fenders are much longer than the Gen III. Mounting brackets might be made, trailer hitch could be an issue. I saw this question a month or two back on another forum, with pictures, it looked pretty close from the rear view, not too close from the side view. Who knows, with enough money and a grinder and it might be made to work.

I only wanted to do the change because I was thinking about changing my pipes to come straight back. Right now they come out just behind the rear tires.
