Rear Brake Light Warning

Hi All,

I am seeing a "Brake Light Out" message on the EVIC screen for the right brake. However, the brake light works just fine. I disconnected the battery for about 30 seconds in the hope it would clear, but not to be. The light fixtures on the rear are factory LED. Something on the CANBUS is causing the alert, so I will appreciate any and all ideas of where to look. The alert is getting annoying.

Thanks,

HemiDriver

Update:
I discovered the warning is for the third brake light on the cab, although the EVIC shows it is the right brake light. We have a canopy on the truck that has its own third brake light, and I'm not too motivated to dislodge the canopy to get at the cab mounted light. I have read previously it could be the brake light switch, I may check that out and see if that's the issue when I get some time.

Update 2: I removed the third light fixture from the cab and to my surprise, there are incandescent bulbs used in the unit. The bulb for the brake light was broken, I suspect from water intrusion. Since LED's are used everywhere else on the truck, I would have thought the third brake/bed lights would be LED too. Anyway, a new bulb fixed the issue.

Cheers!
