My headlights suck

Can't afford HID/projector lights but curious if there's anything I can do...

I'm using Sylvania Zxe bulbs and I can't see squat more than 30 feet in front of me. Would raising the angle of the heads help? I would just drive with my brights on like everyone else in South Carolina but then my foglights cut off leaving the front of the truck dark.I hope to be able to afford a projector retro fit someday but for now what can I do???

Headlights Suck

I would be careful about adding projectors or high output lights as depending on what you buy you can possibly have issues with melting your lens and or damaging the harness depending on the power of the lights. I used EVD Spectras H11 # 93389 and 9005 # 93416 plus Putco H10 #230010DW for the fog lights. All these bulbs are brilliant white putting out 1300 Lumen. They really light up well.

I would just put hid bulbs in my stock housings but wouldn't that blind the crap out of everybody? I was just wondering if there was anything I could try with my stock headlights to make it not so bad...

That's the thing, these Zxe bulbs are claimed by Sylvania to be even brighter than their Silver stars. Yet I can't see jack squat.

Thumbs up

In the '05 have been running OFF ROAD 80/100 in the heads and 80 in the fogs with the fogs wired to burn on high beam too. No issues since 2005 when truck was new. Bulbs are HELLA brand...

Is it possible to use hid bulbs without projectors and NOT blind oncoming traffic?

Screw oncoming traffic I run hid head and fog it's crazy bright the way I see it cops don't say anything even when I'm behind them for a log time so don't worry about traffic

6k headlights decent eBay kit 60$ or less ne'er had an issue over 5 years now same bulbs and ballast (may just be luck)
