Daytime Running headlamps, low beam..

..what is it? It is not DRLs as my lights are off when I'm driving. There is nothing in the settings which would allow me to activate this feature, it's listed as an option, can anyone tell me what they are?

DRL is a option where your headlights are lit with a modulated voltage to give them less than full power. Dealer maybe able to program them.

Red, I'm familiar with DRLs and don't have them on my truck. What I do have is something called "daytime running headlamps, low beam". I don't know what that is.

Personally, I can't stand 'em. They do nothing of what they're touted to do. Nothing is more annoying than trying to jump a vehicle and those [email protected] things come on, just when I need every joule to start the motor. My Mom's Buick had 'em. I finally pulled the fuse.

Lightbulb

They're fine when they can be independently switched so you can use them alone, with parking lights, fogs, low beams or high beams...may not be kosher - but still better .

I asked my dealer about this as well a long time ago. And they told me they would have to fool the computer into thinking it was in Canada. I know, I know, weird. But he said it's mandatory in Canada to have DRL's. But he went on to tell me if he did reprogram the computer everything would convert to the metric system.

I did what most folks do and put my driving lights on a independent switch. Easy solution and you won't need the dealer messing with stuff... which often leads to bad ju ju.....

I got the same line from my dealer. when I bought a 2012 Ford Escape, that dealership was able to activate my DRLs with no problem, just a computer upgrade. Don't know why Chrysler has made it so difficult.

It's not that hard they can go in and flash change the computer to turn them on.
