day light turns off when signal turns on

I bought an 08 1500. when I have the day time running lights on and I turn on the turn signal the head light turns off while the blinker is on. this happens both sides. I do not see this in other rams around my area. I was told maybe it has something to do with being a truck made for Canada? if so can I fix this from happening

It's so someone can see your turn signal. Becoming a common occurrence. Why would you want to turn it off?

It does kinda look funny, definitely becoming more common, my brother's jeep does it. Easy way around it if you want is just turn headlights on while driving and off when you park. It's a habit I have because neither of my vehicles have daytime running lights at all and I like being able to be seen, at least it gives people the chance to see me lol

Thank you. I will have to pay more attention to others. Yes it does catch your eye and stands out.
