I've done mine with 3 light coats and taped off the reverse light. Then I peeled off the tape and clear coated the entire thing 2 nice heavy times (not heavy enough to leave runs). Came out looking like I had them done by a professional. I'm to lazy to get on my laptop and take pictures but you can send me a friend request on FACEBOOK which is Justin smith. My default picture is of my ram for now. and I can show you some pictures. I was scared to do my tail lights because they are expensive to replace if I messed up but I couldn't be happier.

Hi maka,
Didn't tint them but replaced the stockers with some smoked LED lights, Spyders I believe.

They don't look that dark in the pic because the sun is shining on the side of the truck but they are actually pretty dark. Of course therre darker ones out there that are still DOT approved.

You want yours done.
Wow, funny I've looked at every corner of your truck and never noticed. I might be up for spraying it not sure yet. I'm gonna get my front window re-tinted so I was gonna check if I can buy a piece to experiment on the old original tail light I have left.

I'll post a pic of the results. If it doesn't look good then I'll go for the spray.

I like mine to be seen. Tinting seems counter-productive.

I'll agree with that from a safety standpoint Tinting is a cheaper way to get the smoked look but the lights are only going to get darker and harder to see with every coat. I like Preachp's idea of replacing with the smoked recon lights. They have the look and are bright and safe Recons all around is a mod I've been looking at doing for a while
