wheel hub bearing

1 month ago, went for an alignment & was told a bad wheel bearing $ 489.00 to fix. (no funds). drove it for 2 weeks (nothing). 3rd week a little rattling on turns ( like BB's in a tin can) . 4th week, 2 days in & rattling bad (didn't know if it would make it home 26 miles a lil tug (resistance) to the right) The past 2 days nothing! Drove the hell out of it this morning, No noise. WTH!, is it a wheel bearing or T-ends, bad axle, or any advise.
Thanx HTC

Jack up the wheels in the front and give the tires a spin from what you just wrote I bet you find one that's kinda rough sounding and that's your bad one

As he has the front end jack up, can he not give the wheel a tug backward and forward to see if there is any play This would show any excess of play, This would also show any excess of play in tie-rod ends, which could possibly causing trouble

And you might even feel it, it will fill rough whereas it should feel smooth

left front tire ( top to bottom 1/8 max play) wheel hub. Right side spins freely but, makes a wheezing sound. does the right side have a cold or is it on its way out?

Charger 392, do you need any type of special tools to work on the front bearings, I know some of the other Brands you have to have special wrenches to take the hubs off I am used to working on older makes like pre95's, I have manually packed a lot of wheel bearing,It's the best way to make sure that you get plenty wheel bearing greece
