Tires make a big difference

Found this set of used tires for a great price. They are Toyo Open Country M/T in 285/75-17 (33.8x11.2). They have decent tread on them...enough to last until I can get some new ones. Gives it a much better stance. Next I want a modest lift and level. Just a few inches.

Very nice! How is the road noise on the highway with those?

Looks good. I've always liked those rims for some reason.

Pretty minimal noise....though the handling on the road at highway speeds isn't great. Truck feels like it's floating....moving back and forth a little. Keep in mind I bouvht these with 50% tread so I'm not sure what they would be like new.

Yep....only reason I would change rims is for a wider rim for larger tires.

Thanks. I have been looking at those as well. Its kind of a toss up between those and Nitto Grapplers. I do mostly highway driving and looking for a more aggressive tread without a lot of road noise.

The grapplers are impressive as well. My next set of tires will have kevlar sidewalls though. Just because of the terrain we have here in Arizona.

I went from mastercraft c/t's because i got a set with bad sidewalls and had one blow and got not warranty or comp so i got just one to replace the one that blew ($330) and got all new cooper a/t3's ($1100 for 4) at 80ish and above is right around where my moose starts to get "the float" from lack of rear downforce but the local ricers always get scared when they see a truck keeping up with them, next set of tires i get will be bigger and i will report my findings
