Try another store. Discount should stand behind their work. They always have for me.
Could be they have a bad machine too. I have a friend that owns a tire store. He just had to have his machine re-calibrated. It would say a tire was balanced and it wouldn't even be close. In a small town where everyone knows each other it didn't take long for him to find out there was a problem.

I believe that the wheel size is to small for the size tire (8.5) and that they will not admit to it. So i was fishing for info.

Need more info on your wheel/tire combo, as well as your truck.

I just went through a similar ordeal. Two months ago I bought a set of Dunlops SP5000 275/55-17's mounted on SS/T rims. From day one it felt like I was on a railroad track. The shop mounted re-mounted balanced and re-balance more times then I can count. Finally went to another shop and had the wheels balanced on a state of the art balancer. The conclusion was there was problems with the tires. The original shop gave me a replacement for one tire and I balanced it at the other shop. Ran a lot better but was still not right. Told the original shop I was fedup with the Dunlops and they replaced the tires with General's that I choose. Standup shop that put customer service up front. A state of the art balancer can diagnose a balance and tell you if a rim is the problem or if there is something wrong with the tire. The Dunlop would balance but drove horribly because they had hard spots in them. Out of five tires three of them were bad. Who would think that modern manufactured tires would have this type of a problem?
